The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Georgia, Shahid Kavam and Advisor in Cultural Issues Hamid Mostafavi visited the Scientific-Analytical Centre for Georgian and Iranian Relations established on the base of Caucasus International University.
Kakhaber Kordzaia, the University Rector introduced the representatives of the Embassy to CIU students, academic personnel and the attending audience.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran thanked the university for collaboration and attention. In addition, he positively evaluated the fact that the University gives students opportunity to study Persian language.
He also placed emphasis on centuries-old history that connects the two countries with each other and noted that past relations are solid foundation for deepening and strengthening modern relations.
The main part of the meeting was allocated to the presentation by Hamid Mostafavi, the Culture Advisor to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Georgia. The topic of the presentation was Cultural-Literary Life of Modern Iran.
Hamid Mosafavi discussed literature as one of the decisive factors in becoming familiar with a particular country and its culture. In addition, he talked about the old and rich literary monuments of Iran.
He highlighted literature as a significant instrument verifying the identity of the nation and stated that that this sphere plays key role in the development of the society.
The concluding part of the meeting was held in the form of question-responses. CIU academic personnel and PhD students asked additional questions to the speaker referring to the translation and publication of important modern literature of the two countries.
