The University of Alcala Professor Cambas Santos Miguel Filipe was officially awarded the title of Honorary Doctor for his contribution in the development of the university. The event venue was the Conference Hall of Caucasus International University.
The ceremony was opened by CIU Rector- Kakhaber Kordzaia and briefly introduced the University of Alcala to attending audience. He stated that during the several decade history of CIU, the awarding ceremony has been held for the seventh time, which itself implies the significance of the title.
Sesili Gogiberidze – head of CIU Department of Scientific Researches familiarized the attending professors, CIU management, administration, students and invited guests with biography and main achievement of Spanish professor.
Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze, CIU Chancellor also greeted the audience and noted that the language barrier is not an obstacle against the background of the friendship that had formed between the honorary doctor and CIU and personally congratulated Miguel Cambas on being awarded the title.
Kakhaber Jakeli, supervisor of BA Educational Program in Business Administration (language of instruction English) and Lali Mikeladze, head of BA Educational Program in Tourism also greeted the audience.
After the congratulations of CIU representatives, Cambas Santos Miguel Filipe addressed the attending audience and thanked the university administration for their trust, support and appreciation.
After the ceremony, Spanish guest had opportunity to visit CIU marani “Kolkhi” and saw unique grape-crushing tub, wine jars and laboratory.
CIU Chancellor handed souvenirs to the Honorary Doctor and the representatives of the delegation from Spain.
We would like to remind you that Caucasus International University and the University of Alcala have collaborated for several years and both sides have implemented a lot of joint projects and exchange programs.
