A famous immunologist and an expert in the field of modern medical education, Visiting Professor at University of Westminster, Great Britain. Prof. Lydyard visited Caucasus International University by the invitation of Lali Mekokishvili, Dean of the faculty of Medicine. He delivered a public lecture on the topic: “Why you need to study immunology as a medical student” for students and interested individuals.
The lecture was attended by students of Georgian and English educational program, university academic personnel and specialists of the discipline.
During the lecture he placed emphasis on allergy, bacteria, principles of vaccination and issues connected with immunology. The presentation of the author of 177 scientific works held at CIU referred to face and womb transplantation, gene therapy and the issues of immunodeficiency treatment.
Professor Peter Lydyard addressed students with a few questions during the presentation and discussed specific issues in details.
