It is interesting what kind of an answer will we provide to a question nowadays that was asked by Sophocles in Ancient Greece and which was imposed again by Jean Anouilh in France in 1943 - Supremacy of Law or Freedom of an Individual? Creon or Antigone?
Students attended the play “Antigone” staged at Sokhumi Professional Youth State Theatre by the initiative and financial support of Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze, Caucasus International University Chancellor on 5 December, 2016.
Davit Kobakhidze, an honored art worker is the director of Jean Anouilh’s one of the most famous plays. As stated by him inexperienced actors are playing together with the experienced ones in the play.
Davit Kobakhidze emphasized the importance of cultural life among the young generation and positively assessed CIU students’ activity.
Authorities of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia were invited at the play together with the representatives of Sokhumi State University and Caucasus International University administration.
