Project – “The Art of Debating”

Caucasus International University launches a new school-educational project – “The Art of Debating” (learn by playing).

The aims of the project are: to develop a culture of argumentative debating, critical thinking, rational use of conversation time, skills needed for searching the necessary materials or information among young people. Also, how to use them properly, find a compromise and reconcile.

The project, which lasts for 2 months, consists of trainings and games.

Before the game, the registered teams will have trainings: “Debate Culture” and “Agreement Document”.

• Trainer: Petre Mamradze, Academic Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor of Caucasus International University Faculty of Social Sciences.

After the trainings, the teams move to the stage of the game, which is led by 4 mentors with different topics, and with each mentor there will be 4 registered teams on the principle of attendance.

Mentors and Topics:

• Konstantine Ebralidze, PhD student of Doctoral Program in Law at Caucasus International University

Topic: “The Importance of Personal Data Protection in Social Media”;

• Rusudan Totiauri, PhD student of Doctoral Program in Mass Communication at Caucasus International University.

Topic: “Impact of Media on Stigma and Stereotype”;

• Ekaterine Lomia, PhD student of Doctoral Program in Political Science at Caucasus International University.

Topic: “Construction of Anaklia Port: Difficulties and Challenges”;

• Nino Tchanturia, PhD student of Doctoral Program in Business Administration at Caucasus International University.

Topic: “Did Georgian TV Commercials Undergo a Revolution?”

To register, select the one mentor you want with the relevant topic (registration with two or more mentors is not allowed for one team).

Important Dates:

• 10-11 November – Registration;
• 13-14 November – Training;
• 27-28 November – Game;
• 4-5 December – Game;
• 11-12 December – Game;
• 18-19 December- Game;
• 25 December- Closing of the project.
