A practical seminar was held for third-year students of the Faculty of Business at Mtatsminda Pantheon of Georgian Writers and Public Figures on June 15, 2019. The event was organized by CIU Tourism Laboratory within the framework of the academic course Tour Operating. The students talked about Georgian public figures and writers who are buried in this territory: Akaki Tsereteli, Ilia Chavchavadze, Nodar Dumbadze, Ekvtime Takaishvili, and others.
Lali Mikeladze, Supervisor of CIU Undergraduate Program in Tourism awarded a memorable prize to Diana Vepkhvadze, the best presenter. Students noted that Mtatsminda, as a Christian center of Tbilisi and the most picturesque part, should be visited by tourists. Tour Operators have to put this destination into their itineraries.
The participants of the seminar walked from Mtatsminda to the National Botanical Garden of Georgia where the Ice Cream Festival was held. Undergraduate students were given the opportunity to really assess the peculiarities of festival management and its role in the development of tourism.
