An online lecture on the topic – “The Frames of Human Rights Restrictions During COVID 19 Pandemic-Its Compliance with Council of Europe and UN Standards” was organized by the initiative of Caucasus International University Public Relations Service on June 8.
The online lecture was delivered by Tamar Avaliani, Caucasus International University Associate Professor, Doctor of Law. She placed emphasis on fundamental human rights and freedom. Furthermore, Ms. Avaliani discussed the mechanisms of human rights violations during the pandemic, their compliance with the Constitution and the role of government branches (legislative, executive, judicial) in this process. Eventually, the focus was on the principles of work of the Council of Europe and the United Nations during the pandemic and their connection with the national authorities.
The second part of the lecture was interactive, where students became interested in current legal issues around the pandemic.
The online lecture was attended by Caucasus International University as well as Tbilisi State University students.
