Authentic wine lovers will once more celebrate the radical wine exhibition in the capital of Spain on February 10, 2020.
35 wine cellars and companies will preserve the territorial origins of their wines, and Georgia will for the first time participate in the festival as a guest country this year.
Caucasus International University wine cellars “Kolkhi” and “Tsi” will present the country, which is considered as the cradle of wine and viticulture, in front of professional sommeliers, media and tasters.
“Archaeological findings confirm that wine culture originates in Georgia. Georgian qvevri wine technology is estimated to be around 8000 years.
The ancient technology of Qvevri winemaking is still actively used in Georgia and abroad. New generations, in Spain as well as all over the world, have started using qvevri winemaking technologies. However, Georgia as a wine country needs more promotion under the conditions of global competition” – states Spanish news edition “Gastroactitud”.
Master Santi Rivas and a famous journalist in the gastronomy and wine field, Federico Oldenburg will lead the wine tasting process together with the representatives of Georgian wine cellar within the framework of the event. They will introduce Georgian wine varieties to the invited media and companies.
At the end of the event, the jury will traditionally identify the owner of the “Radical Prize” wine cellar, which preserves the originality, diversity, and authenticity of its vineyard - the key principles of the concept of “radical wine”.
