The project – Writer’s Law was organized by non-governmental organization ETD in partnership with Tbilisi State University on June 27, 2019. It aims at showing connection between law and literature, introducing the specificity of academic writing to participants and improving the argumentation skills as well as the ability to express an opinion freely in front of the large audience.
Mindia Ugrekhelidze, Supervisor of Doctoral Program in Law at Caucasus International University, Professor, Doctor of Law participated in the project on the first day and presented a report on the topic: The Significance of Literary Parallels and Paradigms in Researching and Teaching Law.
Mindia Ugrekhelidze placed emphasis on modern teaching methods introduced by Caucasus International University and the subject – Research Methods of Law is worth mentioning from this standpoint.
We would like to remind you that the project is intended for undergraduate and postgraduate students of any faculty at accredited universities of Georgia and who know English on B1 level.
It is noteworthy that 15 presenters participated in the project in Georgian and English working languages, and the format of the project envisaged the cycle of lectures in interactive mode for several days.
The following people presented on the first day of the project: Tevdore Ninidze – Legal Reminiscence in 19th-century Georgian Literature; Mindia Ugrekhelidze - The Significance of Literary Parallels and Paradigms in Researching and Teaching Law; Giorgi Davitashvili - Reflecting Georgian Customary Law in Vazha Pshavela’s Poems Host and Guest and Aluda Ketelauri. The second day: Dimitri Gegenava – Interrelation of Justice and Moral according to The Stranger by Albert Camus; Irina Ruvinsk – Law and Literature according to The Trial by Franz Kafka; Irina Ruvinsk – Academic Writing.
The project participants were awarded bilingual certificates and souvenirs from the organization towards the end of the event. The winners were named on the basis of the presented works at the final stage.
