12 students of the Faculty of Medicine of Caucasus International University joined a group of volunteers formed by the initiative of the Government of Georgia to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19). Students will be transferred to medical clinics in Tbilisi, Gurjaani, Rustavi, Mtskheta, Zugdidi and Gori, where they will assist physicians in entering patient data as well as offering hotline telephone counseling.
Caucasus International University administration would like to thank our volunteer students for their outstanding civic and professional responsibility, which is crucial for the smooth operation of the health care system and for the protection of our citizens’ health.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared Coronavirus (COVID-19) a pandemic on March 11, 2020. There are, currently, confirmed 110 coronavirus cases in Georgia, of which 21 patients have fully recovered.
