Representatives of CIU Faculty of Viticulture-Winemaking Visited Spain
Three Caucasus International University students of Postgraduate Educational Program in Georgian Viticulture-Winemaking at the Faculty of Viticulture-Winemaking, under the supervision of Mr. Olan Gotsiridze, the Dean of the Faculty, will pay 7-10-day visit to Spanish Viticulture-Winemaking educational and scientific-research centers.
The foundation of the above mentioned visit is the memorandum of collaboration signed between Alcala, La Rioja, Burgos (Spain) Universities and Caucasus International University.
The aims of the visit are:
- Introducing the peculiarities of agro-technical events of vineyards of Spanish viticulture and winemaking microorganisms;
- Visiting regional wine enterprises, the introduction of technological processes of grape processing, specific operations of wine processing, equipment;
- Familiarizing with Spanish experience in Bio-viticulture-winemaking;
- Introducing significant scientific-research tendencies in viticulture-winemaking;
- Suggesting modern methods of quality control of winemaking products;
- Becoming familiar with academic programs of Spanish Viticulture-Winemaking directions, defining the priority directions of perspective cooperation which have scientific, practical and scientific nature.
The person responsible for the visit from Spanish side is Ketevan Gorgiladze, the official representative of Caucasus International University in Spain.
The visit to the following locations is planned:
- Burgos State University experimental wine cellar where students are offered internships, make wines themselves and have experiments;
- La Rioja State University wine cellars and laboratories;
- La Rioja Wine Cellar – Franco Espanola;
- Department of Bio-viticulture of Madrid Agriculture Research Center (IMIDRA), laboratories and experimental territories, where there are two Georgian species;
- Wine cellar – Rio Negro.
We would like to remind you that Caucasus International University successfully collaborates with Spanish higher educational institutions. Caucasus International University has been actively working on further development of collaboration with Spain since 2018 and it has planned to continue the partnership with scientific-research institutions and private sector.
