Wine tasting was held at Tasting Room founded on the base of Caucasus International University Faculty of Viticulture-Winemaking on February 9. Saba Kitiashvili and Shengeli Kikilashvili, CIU postgraduate students of the Faculty of Agrarian Sciences introduced experimental wines for evaluation.
Saba Kitiashvili presented four types of wine to the Tasting Committee:
Muscat Rkatsiteli Tskriala;
Muscat Rkatsiteli dry;
Muscat Rkatsiteli Fortified;
Aleksandrouli Muscat Fortified;
Shengeli Kikilashvili presented the following samples:
Cabernet Sauvignon;
Vitis Silvestris;
Saperavi;
Saperavi 359;
Saperavi Budeshurisebuli;
Tasting committee was made up of the representatives of various companies (Shato Mukhrani, GWS, Shilda, Kakhetian Wine Cellar, etc.), wine experts, sommeliers, university professors, Georgian Tasting Committee members and the representatives of Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture.
It is noteworthy that Mr. Tazo Tamazashvili, the best sommeliers of 2018, Mr. Temur Gonjilashvili, Mr. Davit Maghradze, honorary winemakers and Mr. Levan Ujmajuridze, head of Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture and honorary winemaker were the committee members. The committee positively evaluated the presented samples and gave particular advice and recommendation to postgraduate students for further researches.
