On June 17, the Forensics Laboratory was opened at the Faculty of Law of Caucasus International University. The laboratory was opened by Kakhaber Kordzaia, Rector of Caucasus International University and Zurab Chedia, Deputy Director of the Expert-Forensic Main Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. The laboratory was founded with the support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
Caucasus International University students of the Faculty of Law will acquire practical skills, learn to inspect the scene of the accident, obtain, remove and store evidence in the Forensics Laboratory.
In case of successful completion of the practical course of Criminology, students are given the opportunity to undergo an internship and be employed in the Expert-Forensic Main Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
The training-practical course in the Forensics Laboratory is led by Irakli Verulashvili, the Head of the Main Examination Department of the Expert- Forensic Main Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and Tengiz Sisauri, the Head of the Expert-Forensic Main Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tbilisi City Division.
George Khatidze, the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Caucasus International University, Marina Gedevanishvili, the Head of CIU Quality Assurance Service, Irakli Verulashvili, the Head of the Main Examination Department of the Expert- Forensic Main Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, spoke at the event.
At the event, Tengiz Sisauri, the Head of the Expert- Forensic Main Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tbilisi City Division, introduced the specifics of the work of the Forensic Laboratory to the audience and discussed its significance.
The presentation of the textbook “Forensic Ballistics” by police lieutenant colonel Giorgi Dzindzibadze, an employee of the Expert-Forensic Main Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia was held at the opening of the laboratory. The book was published with the support of Caucasus International University.
The event was also attended by the employees of the Expert-Forensic Main Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, the administrative/academic staff and students of Caucasus International University.
