A public lecture dedicated to the World Stroke Day was held at Caucasus International University on October 29, 2019.
The first part of the event was dedicated to CIU Associate Professor, Doctor of Medicine, neurologist Sophio Kasradze, with the topic “Messages from the World Stroke Organization”. The presenter reviewer her career path, in addition, talked about neurology, risk-factors of stroke and the significance of World Stroke Day.
CIU Assistant Professor, Doctor of Medicine, neurologist Giorgi Lomidze delivered a speech on the topic: “Modern Approaches to Stroke Diagnosis, Treatment, and Care” for the students in the second part of the event. The presented placed emphasis on such significant issues as causes of stroke, prevention and the ways to fight against it; stroke statistics; stroke diagnosis; modern technologies of the field; quick response and proper medical care.
The public lecture was organized by the CIU Career Development Service and the Faculty of Medicine which was attended by Georgian and international students.
