Currently, security has become global due to the acceleration of globalization and integration processes. Consequently, the effects of threats and risks are already being considered at the global political level, hence the new term global security has emerged, a model of security which is carried out by international and intergovernmental organizations. It is based on principles and norms of international law the implementation of which obliges states, as actors in international politics, to pay more attention to sovereignty, and in case of its gross violation - to be held accountable.
A global threat can arise not only from the state but also from an entity that is not an international actor and international law is powerless to prevent its actions in any way. For example, the effects of the COVID-19 virus, which is a trend-centric threat of an asymmetric nature, and its identification is carried out in the format of safety studies (health and biosafety sectors). Such precedents require a completely special approach and analysis.
In addition, there has recently been a growing trend in demand for narrow, specialized analysts who are able not to only timely identify, prevent, and model analytical planning of outcomes, but also predict them accurately.
Furthermore, it should be noted that nowadays there is a growing demand worldwide for qualified security research specialists in state agencies and bodies, as well as in research organizations, higher education institutions, as well as in regional and international organizations. Thus, the practical purpose of training specialists with this qualification in the academic and research field in Georgia is of special importance.
