Spanish wine experts, Jesus Miguel Olivares and Carlos Qintana visited the University on April 8-14, 2019. The event was organized by Caucasus International University, Caucasus Trading House and Iberia Center (Ketevan Gorgiladze).
The wine tasting was held in Georgian Wine Club on April 8, 2019. The guests visited Kakheti region on April 9-10 and they saw various sights and wine cellars.
The experts met CIU students of the Faculty of Viticulture-Winemaking and the representatives of small wine cellars of various regions in Georgia at Caucasus International University on April 11, 2019. A lecture on the topic – Production of Bio Wine – European Experience in Technologies and New Opportunities of Export for Georgia was held. The guests also tasted the experimental wine samples prepared by postgraduate program students in Viticulture-Winemaking and they provided appropriate consultations.
Spanish guests visited the Scientific Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture in Jighaura on April 12, where they viewed the collection of Georgian and introduced vine species and tasted wines made from rare varieties of vines.
It is worth mentioning that the students of CIU Postgraduate Program in Viticulture-Winemaking will have practice in Spain in the near future. In addition, a research project was planned which envisages the preparation of Spanish wine with Georgian technologies and vice versa.
