On May 1, the Wine Ambassadors 2025 festival was held at the Wyndham Grand Tbilisi Hotel, with the goal of promoting Georgian wine to both local and international markets. The event brought together wine enthusiasts, Horeca sector professionals, and representatives from distribution companies for a day.
Within the framework of the festival, guests had the opportunity to discover and sample wines from a variety of producers, including small family-owned wineries and purchase their favorite labels.
Caucasus International University Winery “Etno Okami” participated in the event. Along with the wine tasting, the audience had the opportunity to listen to a master class by CIU representatives. Lasha Bodaveli, General Manager of “Etno Okami”, Coordinator of CIU Faculty of Viticulture and Enology, and a member of the Higher Education Sectoral Council, delivered a presentation on the topic: “Procedures for Writing and Registering a Designation of Origin Specification”; Saba Kitiashvili, winemaker, founder of Spring Fields, member of the National Wine Agency’s Tasting Commission, and head of CIU Sommelier School Program, led a session on the topic: “Decantation of Aged Wine”.
In addition to wine tastings, guests enjoyed traditional Georgian cuisine thoughtfully paired with the wines. The venue of the festival gave the guests the opportunity to enjoy panoramic views of Old Tbilisi.
