The memorandum was signed between Caucasus International University and the University of Burgos in 2018.
Caucasus International University student (or a graduate student) may apply for the status of a visitor student and study in Burgos for any term, in any chosen direction on the basis of the memorandum.
Emphasis was placed on the direction of Viticulture-Winemaking. The University of Burgos gives the opportunity to Caucasus International University students to study only different subjects at the university for six months instead of one academic year (courses passed at Georgian university will be recognized) and obtain the Master’s Degree from the University of Burgos.
A student, while studying, has free access to the university labs and wine cellars and can have free practice there as well.
Only Caucasus International University students from Georgia will enjoy such privileges at the University of Burgos.
In addition, Caucasus International University student is allowed to visit one of Spain’s leading wine cellars or research centers (in the direction of bio-winemaking) for up to one week at any time.
It is worth mentioning that Madona Muchiashvili is the first student who benefited from the signed memorandum and became enrolled in the postgraduate program at the University of Burgos while studying at the Caucasus International University. Furthermore, it is significant that there are no specific deadlines for Caucasus International University students to enroll at the University of Burgos and they can take advantage of the opportunity at any time.
The University of Burgos hosted Madona Muchiashvili and Ketevan Gorgiladze, an official representative of Caucasus International University in Spain. They visited the university laboratories and campus and discussed the prospects of future collaboration between the parties. Elena Vicente, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Mobility, and Cooperation and Marisa Gonzalez San Jose, coordinator of the University Postgraduate Program in Wine Culture addressed Caucasus International University students. “We are delighted to accept students from Georgia for the upcoming academic year. The University of Burgos offers students a wide range of degree programs which are well connected to the relevant industry sector. Correspondingly, we get a high academic level of master’s degree programs.” – stated Elena Vicente. “First of all, I would like to thank Caucasus International University for signing the memorandum of mutual collaboration with our university.
