Tamar Avaliani, Doctor of Law, CIU Associate Professor, Council of Europe expert delivered a public lecture on the topic: Council of Europe and Human Rights at Caucasus International University on December 18.
The speaker reviewed the establishment and development of the Council of Europe, focusing on human rights protection by the organization and placed emphasis on the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg from this perspective. In addition, she focused on the activities of Georgia in the Council of Europe and the fact that Georgia was elected as chair of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
The public lecture was interactive and students had the opportunity to ask questions about the issues that interested them.
