Caucasus International University introduced the new Dean of the Faculty of Business, Giorgi Abashishvili.
The Faculty of Business at Caucasus International University has developed an updated concept based on the following key issues: teaching/educational activities, student career development, research activities, teaching support activities, internationalization of curricula/teaching.
Mr. Giorgi Abashishvili discussed the future plans of the faculty and cooperation with foreign partners at the presentation. From 2022, the Faculty of Business will gradually develop and implement specific projects in partnership with the Harvard Business School, the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, the Wharton Business School and the Maastricht School of Management at various levels. In addition, the faculty presents specific programs and areas of partnership with well-known brands such as The Financial Times, Business Insider and Bloomberg.
The faculty also announces special programs for postgraduate students within the framework of educational cooperation with international financial institutions, which will be truly innovative in Georgian market. Furthermore, the Faculty of Business is introducing a completely new three-level model of student employment within the updated concept, which will build on the successful and proven practice of one of the largest HR companies in Europe.
Simultaneously, the Business and Economics Research Center will be launched in cooperation with the well-known partners at the Faculty of Business of Caucasus International University. It combines five laboratories: Financial Education Lab, Business Media Lab, Dual Education Lab, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Lab, and Marketing Lab. Each laboratory will implement projects in close collaboration with renowned and recognized local and international partners.
Mr. Giorgi Abashishvili has been delivering lectures in business and economics since 2006. In 2013 he took a special course in business research methods at the Maastricht School of Management, at the same time he defended his doctoral degree in Business Administration at Ilia State University. In the same year he was a member of the Dispute Resolution Board of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. In 2014, he was appointed Advisor to the President on Economic Affairs, and in 2015-2018 he was the Head of the Administration of the President of Georgia. In 2018, he was elected as a member of the Academy of Business Sciences. In 2019-2020 he was the head of the Business School of Ilia State University, and in 2020-2021 he was the Chancellor and Professor of GIPA. In parallel, he was a member of the Government Economic Advisory Group established by USAID in 2020-2021. Since January 2019, he has been the National Consultant of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) in Georgia.
