CIU-EU 4:1

The eighth round meetings of the Futsal League 2019-20 season were held at Tbilisi Olympic Palace on February 14. Futsal League 2 started the day and Caucasus International University played against European University. Unlike the first round match of the teams (6: 4), they have not scored many goals.

CIU advanced with a goal scored by Giorgi Ghavtadze on the eleventh minute. Merab Bolotashvili scored a double in the second half of the match, in addition, Luka Partsvania scored one goal. Eventually, EU lost with the score 4:1. CIU moved to the second position in this tournament with this victory. Giorgi Ghavtadze, CIU: “We knew that the match would be tensed. We have added new players and we still lack coordination. We need time to work on tactics, that the coaches are teaching us. The first half was more difficult, then we took advantage of the opponent’s mistakes and scored three goals. Moving to the playoffs is the main goal at this point and we will fight to win the championship”.
