Caucasus International University founder and Chancellor, Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze’s 70th and the University’s 25th Jubilee was celebrated on June 8, 2019.
The event was held at Caucasus International University and was moderated by Ms. Sesili Gogiberidze, Head of Scientific Research Department. Mr. Kakhaber Kordzaia, CIU Rector, Metropolitan of Mrove-Urbnisi Iob, Professor Mindia Ugrekhelidze, Ms. Nino Chalaganidze, Head of CIU Multimedia Center, Mr. Olan Gotsiridze, Dean of CIU Faculty of Viticulture-Winemaking. Mr. Lado Jurkhadze, Khoni municipality Major, and Mr. Jemal Gorduladze, Editor of the newspaper Khoneli and publicist made speeches in front of the audience.
The jubilee ceremony was attended by clergymen, community, the university administrative and academic personnel.
There were a lot of congratulations, emotions … the presenters placed emphasis on Mr. Tsivtsivadze’s merits, numerous kind actions and wished him welfare and success in the future as well. The Metropolitan of Mrovel-Urbnisi, Iob awarded Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze with Saint Vakhtang Gorgasali Order for his devotedness and personal contribution in building church-monasteries in connection with his 70th Jubilee.
CIU Folk Song Ensemble, young pianist Davit Tsivtsivadze and Gulita Sanodze, a young actress of Khoni People’s Theater performed at the event.
Mr. Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze was born on June 8,1949 in Khoni. He graduated from Khoni Secondary School 3 (gold medal) in 1966 and the faculty of Chemistry and Food Technologies at Georgian Poly-technical Institute in 1972. He served as a Shift Manager of Coke-Chemical Department at Rustavi Metallurgical Plant in 1972-1975. He worked on leading positions in the party in 1975-1990. He was the founder and the director of the firm Progress in 1990-1994. He worked as Chairperson of the Department of Business and Investment Policy at State Provision Service of Georgia, he has been the founder and Chancellor of Caucasus International University since 2005;
Mr. Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze became Honorary Doctor of Odlar Yurdu University, Azerbaijan in 2017 and Honorary Citizen of Khoni in 2016. In addition, he is an honorary chairperson of the society “Khoneli”.
Mr. Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze has a wife, two children, and five grandchildren.
