Caucasus International University 2017-2018 alumni had graduation ceremony at Hotels and Preference Hualing Tbilisi on December 7, 2018. Honorary guests together with the university administration and academic personnel attended the event. Mr. Kakhaber Kordzaia opened the ceremony with a greeting. The deans of the Faculties of Business, Law, Viticulture-Winemaking, Medicine and Social Sciences as well as invited guests also addressed the students. They placed emphasis on constant development, acquisition-advancement of various competences and skills and the significance of life-long learning in this process.
Tbilisi City Hall Big-Band congratulated Caucasus International University graduates and as a gift provided the musical accompaniment of the evening. It is worth mentioning that this year, in total 400 Georgian and international students graduated from undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs of Caucasus International University. Among them were successful graduates with the highest GPA and they were awarded wall Diplomas by the corresponding Faculty Deans. Graduates’ speech became a good tradition at the graduation ceremony. Ms. Shorena Kurdadze, graduate of Doctoral Program in Business Administration, Scientific Projects Coordinator of Caucasus International University Scientific Research Department and Mr. Saba Kitiashvili, a graduate of Postgraduate Program in Viticulture-Winemaking presented in front of the attending audience. The presenters thanked CIU authorities, administration and each lecturer for productive years spent at the university.
Ms. Nino Chubinidze, Vice Chancellor addressed the audience. She highlighted the significance of education, strengthening the network of graduates, supporting their ideas and intensive cooperation. Ms. Nino Chubinidze encouraged the graduates not to lose connection with the university and become actively engaged in working out and implementing innovations and projects. In addition, another significant, distinguishing and memorable activity was planned and implemented within the framework of the event: Giorgi Basilashvili, Caucasus International University graduate, who holds nine Guinness World Records, the winner of Georgian and Caucasus Championships in fights, owner of the first knife of black belt set a new world record. He did 16 push-ups in prone position in 31 seconds (lifting 115 kilos). He was awarded Caucasus World Records certificate.
The official part of the ceremony was continued for graduates and attendees with the most distinguished, important and fun cake cutting and traditional throwing of the graduation caps in the air. The graduation ceremony was hosted by Kakha Mikiashvili, an actor and TV host. Caucasus International University congratulates graduates on this success and wishes them successful and happy future!
