The first working meeting was held by CIU academic personnel, Vice Chancellor, head and representatives of Quality Assurance Service, supervisors of different MA and Doctoral programs, Deans and scientific supervisors of doctoral students in order to define the duties and responsibilities of the doctoral students and his/her scientific supervisor as a normative document. The event venue was Caucasus International University Conference Hall.
Ms. Nino Mindiashvili, Deputy Head of CIU Department of Scientific Studies conducted the training - Aims and Challenges of Doctoral Student’s Scientific Supervisor and introduced Article 22 of the Doctoral Program and amendments made to the draft to the attending audience.
As stated by Nino Mindiashvili the university is obliged to regulate the above mentioned issues in accordance to authorization standards and besides CIU, other Georgian universities have to start active discussion of this issue.
The training continued with the views of the audience in the form of question-response. At the first working meeting, the professors and teachers discussed the amendments made in the article 22, the challenges and the existing reality.
Towards the end of the training, the upcoming two meetings were announced where the audience will continue discussions of the above mentioned issues.
