At the basketball championship held under the leadership of the University Sports Federation, CIU basketball team successfully fought for the third place.
The team started playing in the Supreme League, together with the teams of seven different higher education institutions in April of the current year and came to the semi-final stage.
CIU basketball team met Georgian National University team twice on July 5 and 8 in the fight for the third place.
CIU took significant advantage at the first game. Eventually it was reflected on the final score and the team won with the score 80:63.
SEU team managed to win the second meeting with the minimal difference and the second game ended with the score 87:85. Correspondingly, as the result of two matches CIU team became the winner.
The four prizes were distributed as follows: first place – Ilia State University, second place – Georgian Technical University, third place – Caucasus International University and the fourth place – Georgian National University.
The finalists of the championship were awarded medals by JebaArjevanidze, president of University Sports Federation.
