Caucasus International University Launched Student Mentor Institute
Students seeking student-mentor status, at the first stage, had to meet basic qualification requirements such as: ability to communicate in English and/or in other foreign language, knowledge of computer office programs, social network management skills, teamwork, communication skills. During the selection process, great attention was paid to students’ academic performance.
As stated by Kakhaber Kordzaia, CIU Rector, student-mentor institute is a worldwide acknowledged and approved method. Student mentors assist freshmen to become smoothly engaged in academic-scientific and student life.
At the first stage about 100 students of various CIU faculties and programs were registered at the Mentor Competition. 35 communicative, creative young people with leadership qualities moved to the second stage. They had intensive preparatory trainings conducted by Mariam Gagua and Kesi Katsitadze from June 30 to July 2.

Nino Chubinidze, CIU Vice-Chancellor addressed the project participant students towards the end of the working day and she thanked them for being active. Vice Chancellor claimed that this project has worked and it is a big success for every student as well as for the university.
Towards the end of the project, Vice-Chancellor announced the upcoming trainings for 32 students, who have won the peer mentor competition, to be held in September.
We would like to remind you that the winner candidates will benefit from various events and will be offered qualification courses. After the completion of the term, (one semester, the term can be prolonged to one year) students will be awarded certificates of internship in the position of student mentor.
