Laparoscopic Cancer Surgery Evening was held at CIU Conference Hall by the joint initiative and organization of Tbilisi Cancer Centre and Caucasus International University.
The event was opened by Lalia Mekokishvili, Dean of CIU Faculty of Medicine and presented Dirk Jentschura, German Cancer Surgeon, Private Doctor of Mannheim University Hospital and CIU Affiliated Professor to the attending audience.
The main activities of the visit of German surgeon and oncologist to Georgia were discussed by Zurab Rainauli, Academic Doctor of Medicine, Director of CIU Affiliate Clinic, Tbilisi State Cancer Center.
Giorgi Korakhashvili, Professor and General Surgeon of Oncology and General Surgery Department of Tbilisi Cancer Center introduced the clinic mission, activities and main directions of development to the audience.
Dirk Jentschura, German Cancer Surgeon, Private Doctor of Mannheim University Hospital and Caucasus International University Affiliated Professor introduced the current news and challenges in laparoscopic surgery to the leading specialists and CIU students gathered at CIU conference hall during the main part of the event.
It is worth mentioning that within the framework of the visit of German surgeon and oncologist, a memorandum of mutual collaboration was signed between the university and Diakonissen-Stiftungs-Krankenhaus on June 29. It was signed by Kakhaber Kordzaia, CIU Rector and Dirk Jentschura.
