CIU Futsal team played against Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University at the final match of Universiada Cup organized by University Sports Federation.
The game was tense and transient. In the first half the score was not opened and in the second half, the first goal was scored by TSU Futsal players. Three minutes before the game ended, Gari Tsereteli managed to score a goal and the main time of the game ended with the draw 1: 1.
In order to reveal the winner of the meeting, a series of penalties were appointed, where CIU team lost with the minimal difference, with the score 3: 2.
It is worth mentioning that CIU Futsal player Davit Kharazi was named as the best football player of Universiada tournament and he was awarded a special prize. The winner teams - the first place – TSU, the second place – CIU, the third place – Sports university were awarded medals.
We would like to remind you that the teams of 14 educational institutions involved in the Universiada were divided into 7-7 teams at the group stage. Two teams, including CIU team, were granted the right to play in the final.
