The International Expert Conference – Asymmetric Conflicts and Hybrid Wars in the 21st Century was held in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, Poland on May 23-25, 2018. Vakhtang Maisaia, CIU Associate Professor, a supervisor of MA Educational Program in International Relations and International Security and an international expert was among 60 conference presenters. He made presentation on the topic: Jihadist Hybrid War, as Asymmetric Military Strategy for Aggressive Failed State Actors – Main Characteristics and Doctrinal Implications (Daesh, Taliban and Islamic Emirate of Caucasus). Mr. Vakhtang Maisaia also conducted a workshop on the topic: Caucasus-Caspian Region during Post-Cold War Period within the framework of the conference.
Alika Guchua, PhD student of CIU Doctoral Program in Political Sciences, a chairperson of Young Experts Association was also among the conference presenters. He made presentation on the topic – Asymmetric Threats and Impact of Hybrid War on Global Security and NATO’s Role in Providing Peace.
It is worth mentioning that Caucasus International University was among the conference organizers together with the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Poland and General Assembly. About 150 interested individuals from governmental, academic and expert sphere attended the conference.
