Archpriest Levan Mateishvili conducted a lecture on the topic: Religious Conflicts within the framework of the academic course – Coverage of Conflicts.
The Archpriest reviewed the history of the issue and the challenges facing modernity. As stated by him, almost all the conflicts in the world, which are of a religious nature, are actually political in their essence. “Unfortunately, religion is often presented in the ideological plane by various groups; it is very sad, as it focuses on ruling people, and eventually it breaks down. Ideologizing religions is the main reason for conflicts” – claimed the Archpriest.
The second part of the meeting was held in the form of question-responses. Students became curious about various theological and socio-political issues and received interesting answers from the Archpriest.
The lecture was attended by students as well as the representatives of the administration.
