Caucasus International University students of the faculty of Medicine made presentations at the conference “Global Health and Medicine” organized by Youth Scientific Union (YSU).
The conference was opened by Vakhtang Tebidze, YSU President and he talked about the significance of the event, guests and partners. Representatives of healthcare, partner organizations and French embassy addressed the audience as well.
The presenters discussed significant issues of public healthcare and medicine at the conference.
Marekhi Saldadze and Tamar Nebieridze, the fourth-semester students of CIU Faculty of Medicine presented the topic “HIV Infection as a Major Global Health Challenge”.
CIU students of the second semester were also involved in the conference by presenting posters. Gizo Abashidze and Marika Ivanishvili discussed “Domestic Violence - Global Problem”, Juna Beglarashvili and Nino Kvaratskhelia – “Tobacco consumption Statistics, Risks and Consequences”.
Caucasus International University students presented their works by the supervision of Maya Svanidze.
Caucasus International University students as well as students from other higher education institutions – Tbilisi State Medical University, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University, Davit Aghmashenebeli University and European University participated in the conference “Global Health and Medicine”. People from Batumi also attended the conference.
After the completion of the presentations, Vakhtang Tebidze, President of Youth Scientific Union, Giorgi Gagua, conference scientific supervisor and Tamar Maziashvili, member of club “VITALIS” and conference coordinator awarded certificates.
It is worth mentioning that students from Teaching University Geomedi and International Black Sea University were engaged in the organization of the conference.
The sixth conference organized by “Youth Scientific Union”, which was held on 6 May, was hosted by hotel “Iota”.
