Students Specializing in Tourism Were Offered Internship at Borjomi Elite, 5-Star Hotel

10 second and fourth-year students of CIU BA Educational Program in Tourism were offered educational practice at elite, 5-star Hotel Rixos Borjomi towards the end of autumn-winter semester, from 29 December to 8 January.

They became engaged in the hotel project by the initiative and recommendation of Lali Mikeladze, program supervisor. The BA students specializing in tourism, who had high academic performance, enthusiasm and sense of responsibility and interest towards the work were eligible candidates for the above mentioned activity.

According to the above mentioned skills and characteristics the following students have been selected: Natia Sepiashvili, Salome Shamatava, Eto Grigalashvili, Nino Kvaratskhelia, Anastasia Khacgiperadze, Nino Gureshidze, Mindia Shavadze, Mnauchar Iremadze and Giorgi Nadareishvili.

Students specializing in tourism and program participants – Natia Sepiashvili and Salome Shamatava recollect 10-day internship at elite hotel:

Natia: I recollect the period spent at the hotel with great pleasure. The experience that I gained during the internship is vast. Salome: We were all tensed and confused during the first day; however, as the result of the effort of the staff and managers we picked everything up quickly. We declined the simple schedule which was prepared for us and started working full time like experienced staff.  

CIU students were attached to the Food and Beverages Department during the internship; however, they were able to monitor other services simultaneously and make attempts in this direction.

Natia: The fact that I have been sent for internship in this hotel from my university and that I have gained some experience will have a positive effect on my candidature during an interview with a potential employer.

Salome:  I sincerely congratulate the group of students that will be selected from the faculty this year and will go to Rixos Borjomi. I would like to tell them that they will gain huge experience there.

The group of students from BA educational program in Tourism who were offered internship at Borjomi elite hotel were awarded certificates for successful participation in the project towards the end of 2016.
