CIU Delegation Attended Iliaoba Festival in Kvareli

Top five students from Kvareli who will pursue their studies at BA Programs offered by Caucasus International University will receive 500 GEL discount during four years.  

Caucasus International University Chancellor introduced the above mentioned decision to the audience during Iliaoba Festival at Ilia Chavchavadze Kvareli State Museum. Vakhtag Tsivtsivadze awarded certificate of teaching grant to Ketevan Chipashvili, Head of Kvareli Educational Resource Center.

Kvareli Educational Resource Center will reveal the owner of the grant in partnership with Caucasus International University.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Lia Gigauri and local government officials awarded the best students of Kakheti with notebooks.

The presentation of the films prepared by Caucasus International University Multimedia Centre was organized at Ilia Chavchavadze Museum within the framework of Iliaoba public festival. The viewers have seen the first seven series, prepared at this stage within the new project. Multimedia Center dedicated the documentary film cycle – “From Kvareli to Mtatsminda to Guram Sharadze motives” to one hundred and eighty years anniversary from Ilia’s birth and one hundred and ten years from his death.  

Exhibition dedicated to the 80^th anniversary from the founding of the museum was held in the Exhibition Hall of Ilia Chavchavadze State Museum in parallel with the festive events.

Exhibition-sale of works of traditional craft and paintings of local artists was held at Kvareli Historical Castle in connection to Iliaoba. Attendees were able to taste traditional dishes and beverages in specially made huts.

Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze, accompanied by representatives of Caucasus International University Multimedia Center, attended the sports events and theatrical performances held at Kvareli historical castle-fence within the frames of the public festival.

“Iliaoba” is celebrated annually in Kvareli on 8 November, on the day of the birth of Ilia Chavchavadze.
