Opening of the Center for Polish Language and Culture Named after Irine Skhirtladze

Kakhaber Kordaia, CIU Rector and Mariusz Maszkiewicz, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Georgia opened the Center for Polish language and Culture named after Irina Skhirtladze on 18 May, 2017.

The event was attended by students, Georgian parliament diaspora and representatives of the Committee for Caucasian Issues and the Skhirtladzes. The Polish Ambassador delivered a lecture “Protest Culture I Poland and Polish Experience for Georgia”.

The above mentioned event was organized by the initiative of CIU Department of Innovations and Strategic Development and was dedicated to the 25^th anniversary of restoring diplomatic relations between Georgia and Poland.

We would like to remind you that Irine Skhirtladze was the heroin of 1944 Warsaw rebellion and symbolically it was planned to open a Centre for Polish Language and Culture named after Irine Skhirtladze.
