International Student Conference on the topic: “Perspectives of Tourism Development and Strategic Objectives” was held at Expo Georgia on 27 April, 2017 for the third time.
Twenty students from various higher education institutions, Mary Kakhelishvili, fourth –year student fro CIU also participated in the conference with the topic: Project Students for Students”.
One of the most significant and essential criteria was to implement at least one out of the eight strategic objectives represented in the tourism strategy.
The committee and the attending audience were introduced such conference works as: Inclusive Tourism Development Perspectives in Georgia, Historical Heritage, as Extreme Adventure, Lechkhumi-Museum under Open Sky, etc.
The members of the committee revealed the winners of the first three places towards the end of the event. The third place was occupied by Mariam Tkeshelashvili, Second place – Nino Mkalavishvili, First place – Keti Maghradze.
CIU student Mary Kakhelishvili was named as the committee favourite and was awarded a number of prizes by conference partners. Conference participants were awarded special certificates.
As stated by Giorgi Bregadze, Head of Research and Planning Department of Georgian National Tourism Administration and the organizer of the event, the conference gives students opportunity to implement individual researches and offer new ideas to the main tourism organization of Georgia.
The 19th International Tourism Exhibition was held in parallel with the conference at the 11th pavilion of Expo Georgia. It is worth mentioning that CIU students were actively involved in the exhibition, they were working near stands and offered appropriate assistance to guests.
