The fifth Conference “Global Health and Medicine” dedicated to the World Health Day was organized by “Youth Scientific Union” and “Student’s Scientific-Research Club “VITALIS” on 7 April, 2017.
Georgian and international students from Caucasus International University, Tbilisi State Medical University, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Davit Tvildiani Medical University, Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy participated in the conference. The participants delivered speeches as well as poster presentations. Their works were evaluated by professors of various universities.
The following topics were discussed by the presenters: issues of global health, public health policy, economy and management, environmental medicine and health promotion, health insurance, communicable and non-communicable diseases, mental health.
Barbare Gelashvili, Tatia Kvantaliani and Aleksandre Papuashvili, first-year students of medicine from Caucasus International University supervised by Maya Svanidze participated in the conference. They presented a topic – The Impact of Ground Level Ozone Layer on Human’s Health”. Humam Alobaidi, supervised by Maka Zarnadze presented a topic: “Dramatical race between drug development and bacterial evolution”.
Conference participants have expressed their interest towards CIU students’ works. The discussion was held and the presenters provided answers to the questions asked.
It is worth mentioning that Caucasus International University students have been invited at different conferences and meetings.
