Contest – Homeland Starts from My District
Contest Consists of 2 Sections: Journalism and Tourism.
A Contestant Has to Choose One Section
Journalism Section
Theme: Regions of Georgia
Pupils of 10th, 11th and 12th classes from public and private schools are welcome to participate in the contest.
Contest stages:
- I stage (13-20 February) – registration and submission of video materials, selection of the best works by the committee;
- II stage – Presentation of the video materials selected by the committee and awarding winners.
Individuals who are willing to participate in the contest have to send their contest materials electronically to the following email address: samshoblo@ciu.edu.ge

- The aim of the contest is to portray positive and negative factors of everyday environment, the video recording of a contestant must not exceed 115 seconds;
- Video recording can be prepared by using any technical means;
- A video recording submitted by a contestant will be evaluated by using 10 point grading system.
Assessment Criteria:
- Compliance with contest requirements, as well as with its theme, in particular:
- How thoroughly is the issue studied/discussed;
- To what extent is a work interesting and attractive for a listener or a reader – 3 points;
- Motivation – 3 points;
- Creative Vision: how original, creative and worthy is a work from creative standpoint – 4 points;

(Virtual Excursion)

- Video recordings submitted by contestants will be evaluated by suing 10 point grading system:
- Presentation of itinerary – 8-10 minutes (Attention will be paid to depth and authenticity of the material: brief historical-geographic annotation, cultural and natural sights, folklore, traditions, traditional cuisine and wine: 3 points in total);
- Texts accompanying a presentation (writing, speaking and narration skills): I – 1 points, in total 3 points);
- Visual side of a presentation – 2 points;
- Use of informative and communication technologies (without using animation and special effects – 1 points, using animation and special effects – 2 points).
Contest Requirements:
- A contestant has to select itinerary and persuade the committee in the superiority of his or her choice by providing argumentation;
- Limit the use of internet information and videos;
- The presentation must include bibliography and internet resources.
