The international scientific conference organized by Caucasus International University in partnership with the Information Centre on NATO and EU was held on 11and 12 November, 2016. The topic of the conference was: “EU Association Agreement: Legal, Political and Economic Aspects”.
Information Centre on NATO and EU hosted both days of the conference.
Gigi Gigiadze, Deputy Foreign Minister, Irina Shamiladze, a representative of the Information Centre on NATO and EU and Marika Odzeli, head of Georgian Language Division at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Kakhaber Kordaia, CIU Rector, Marina Gedevanishvili, Head of Quality Assurance Service and Vice Rector, Professor Mindia Ugrekhelidze greeted the participants and invited guests and highlighted the significance of the conference at the plenary session.
The aim of the conference was to study legal, political and economic aspects of EU association agreement on scientific foundation.
Famous Georgian and international scientists, experts, young scholars, representatives of international organizations, governmental and nongovernmental sectors participated in the international scientific conference.
Law, Business and Economic sections were operating during the second day of the conference and Georgian and foreign participants made presentations on significant topics like: “Development of Digital Economics in the Process of Integration in European Space”, “Globalization Process and United Information Space of Caucasus”, Security of EU and Challenges in Caucasus Region”, “Law of Competition and Its Effective Implementation in the Context of EU Association Agreement – Achievement, Problems and Perspectives”, Management System for Reformed Public Finances in Georgia and Its Compatibility with EU Practice”.
The participants were awarded certificates after the completion of the conference.
The participants visited Old Tbilisi and Mtskheta after the completion of the official part of the conference. In addition, they paid a visit to educational-scientific base founded by the faculty of Viticulture-Wine-making of Caucasus International University, Marani “Kolkhi” which is equipped by ancient Georgian qvevris.
The guests were given a chance to cook traditional Georgian dishes themselves and taste them.
