Galega, Inula, Orchis, Equisetum, Symphytum and Petasites – these are the plant species which were collected by the Pharmacy students from the faculty of Medicine of Caucasus International University on the grassland of Tsiv-Gombori Range and Shuamta forest.
About 40 Turkish, Egyptian, Iraqi, Syrian, Nigerian and Georgian students gathered the medicinal herbs collectively during the expedition.
Students learnt how to identify the medicinal herbs, use herbarium nets and make herbariums with the assistance of the university professors. In addition they gained information about the medicinal qualities of the herbs they have gathered and the stages that a plant undergoes before being transformed into a medicine.
The representatives of the Ministry of Health Care and Institute of Pharmacochemistry participated in the expedition together with the university professors and students.
As stated by the organizers such kind of an activity will become permanent.
