A public lecture on the topic: Violence Against Women, Domestic Violence and Femicide will be held on 6 March at 14:00.
The lecture covers the issues of strengthening victim protection and victim-oriented criminal justice policy, increasing the effectiveness of combating gender-based violence against women, family crime and sexual crime, as well as combating crimes committed with the motive of intolerance based on discrimination. Within the framework of the public lecture, the existing legislative aspects and challenges of practical activities in the mentioned direction will be discussed. The public lecture is held with the support of U.S. Embassy in Georgia and the United Nations Women’s Organization.

Prosecutor of Tbilisi Gldani-Nadzaladevi District Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia Mariam Begiashvili (doctoral student of the Program in Criminal Law at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University) and prosecutors of the same District Prosecutor’s Office: Guram Kraveishvili (doctoral student of the criminal law at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University), Mariam Gigauri (prosecutor specializing in domestic violence).
