Youth conference on the topic: Peace in Caucasus: The Role of the Youth in Strengthening Georgian-Azerbaijani Relations was held at Caucasus International University on February 14, 2019.
During the conference, the presenters placed emphasis on the history of Georgian-Azerbaijani relations, current achievements and challenges between the two countries. The special role of the youth has been distinguished in the above mentioned processes.
The event has been organized by Ali Badirov, Doctoral student of CIU Program in Law and a chairperson of Georgian Azerbaijani Bar Association as well as by Farid Shahbazli, a chairperson of non-governmental organization Young Reformers Public Union of Azerbaijan and the support of CIU.
Alika Gachua, a doctoral student of CIU Program in Political Science, a chairperson of Young Experts’ Association, Ahmad Shahidov, head of Center for Human Rights and Democracy of Azerbaijan, human rights defender, Giorgi Gogua, Master of Public Management and Politics and Nodar Totadze, Caucasiologist delivered special presentations at the conference.
Furthermore, the event was attended by the representatives of the nongovernmental sector, civilians and students.
It is noteworthy that Azerbaijan will host such kind of conference on Georgian-Azerbaijani relations in the near future.
