Professor Zaza Tsotniashvili, Supervisor of Journalism Program at Caucasus International University conducted public lectures and workshops as a visiting scholar on May 12-18, 2019 in order to implement the local scientific foundation grant within the framework of the memorandum signed between Caucasus International University and the University of Venda (Thohoyandou, South Africa).
The public lecture in the direction of media and international relations was held for academic staff and students on the following topics: Information War and Free Media, Georgian Media Environment and Georgian, Russian and US Relations.
It is noteworthy that the lectures provoked great interest among local scientists and students. They expressed their readiness to implement greater scale research grant in media and international directions with the engagement of Caucasus International University and the University of Venda professors and students.
South African students were given opportunity to attend Zaza Tsotniashvili’s masterclass – Be Successful. The theme was about the ways from dream to success in a business which provoked students’ motivation and a desire to set new approaches in life.
An important meeting was held with the Media School staff. They became familiar with Caucasus International University experience and they showed their approval towards new Postgraduate Program in Media Studies and Multimedia Production.
Preparation of joint grant projects was planned for African Scientific Foundation, in particular dual program for Caucasus International University and the University of Venda students.
Furthermore, Zaza Tsotniashvili offered sports activity within the framework of the visit. He organized friendly meetings with African colleagues and students in order to promote tennis.
It should be noted that active partnership is crucial for the development of curriculums of the two countries which will be implemented through future activities.
