Caucasus International University hosted Wroclaw Medical University delegation (Prof. Jacek Szepietowski, MD, PhD - Vice-Rector for University Development; Prof. Małgorzata Sobieszczańska, MD, PhD - Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Kamil Machera, MA - Head of International Relations Department) on March 19-20, 2019.
CIU Rector Kakhaber Kordzaia met Wroclaw Medical University delegation and they signed an agreement of collaboration. Both sides discussed the direction of further collaboration and exchanged souvenirs.
In addition, the delegation visited CIU Center for Polish Language and Culture and there was held a meeting with the representatives of administration. Both sides made presentations about the universities. The guests visited CIU laboratories in medicine and later continued the working day in the new library.
Two working meetings were held at the Library Conference Hall. The issues for implementing joint international programs between the universities have been discussed during the first part. The summer exchange program for students of the Faculty of Medicine has been planned, within the framework of which CIU students will be offered internship for free at Wroclaw Medical University Clinic during the summer holidays. The partner university also provides their accommodation in the university dormitory. Administration issues of Erasmus+ exchange program were discussed at the meeting.
Integrated programs of medicine, modern methods of teaching and assessment were discussed at the second part of the meeting. In addition, emphasis was placed on potential joint research projects.
We would like to remind you that joint Erasmus+ program application (about the exchange of students, academic and administrative personnel) submitted by Wroclaw Medical University and Caucasus International University gained high assessment and was fully funded. Within the framework of the above mentioned collaboration, Caucasus International University student will be offered fully funded internship for one semester within the exchange program at Wroclaw Medical University. One academic and one administrative staff will pay a visit to the partner University with full funding. The visit of Wroclaw Medical University delegation ended with an excursion in Mtskheta. The guests visited Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli.
