A course of lectures - Theory of Economic War and Global Security conducted in English language by Polish Professor Przemyslaw Furgacz started for Caucasus International University students on Aril 24, 2019.
Professor Przemyslaw Furgacz is a Head of Economics Department, College of Business and Entrepreneurship (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, Poland); In addition, he is a Head of the Central European Institute of Research and Strategic Analysis.
The course of lectures covers such significant issues as:
Main concepts and ideas of Geo-economics. Similarities and differences between Geopolitics and Geo-economics;
Geo-economics and its role in the international system. Instruments of Geo-economics: Economic sanctions and embargos;
Instruments of Geo-economics: economic assistance; investment policy and sovereign wealth funds;
Instruments of Geo-economics: activities of cyber-space, financial and monetary policy; Goods; Global and regional economic institutions and organizations - their agenda and policy;
Economic wars in the 20th and 2st centuries: Trading wars;
Economic wars in the 20th and 2st centuries: Currency and financial wars;
Geo-economics in US foreign and security policies over the centuries - the First World War, the interwar period, the Second World War, the Early Cold War;
Geo-economics in US foreign and security policies over the centuries –Late Cold War, Post Cold War Period, the 21st century;
Geo-economics in China - foreign and security policies;
Russian-Ukrainian economic war.
The course of lectures will last till May 8, 2019. The students will be awarded certificates upon the completion of the lectures. The course taken will be acknowledged as free credits for undergraduate level students.
