The use of social media analytical tools, digital news, and challenges - Nathan Carpenter, an American professor held a public lecture on these topics at the Multimedia Center of Caucasus International University on December 4, 2019.
Director of Convergent Media, College of Arts and Sciences at Illinois State University discussed modern ways of media analysis, data collection, processing, archiving and dissemination.
The speaker introduced the media laboratories operating at Illinois State University to the students and academic staff and shared his experiences with the teaching process.
The professor provided answers to the audience’s questions after the lecture. They focused mainly on the security of processed data, the protection of fake information, the complexity of ethical norms on social media and the importance of media awareness.
Discussions with academic staff and experts in the field were held in the second part of the meeting. They discussed the challenges and problems facing modern media education.
