The Fourth International Scientific Conference dedicated to Georgian-Iranian Political, Economic and Cultural Relations was held
Caucasus International University, Scientific-Analytical Center for Georgian-Iranian Relations and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Georgia, Division of Cultural Affairs organized the Fourth International Scientific Conference dedicated to Georgian-Iranian Political, Economic and Cultural Relations in Bakuriani on December 20, 2018.
Mr. Kakhaber Kordzaia, CIU Rector, Mr. Seyed Javad Ghavam Shahidi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Georgia, Hamid Mostafavid, head of Cultural Affairs Division of the Embassy, Ms. Maya Kapanadze, Chairperson of the Conference Organizing Committee addressed the conference participants at the opening ceremony. In their speeches they highlighted the significance of the conference in establishing close connection between the scientific circles of the countries and wished success to the conference participants.
33 presentations were delivered by the Professors from Georgian, Iranian and Azerbaijani universities as well as scientific institutions at the Fourth International Scientific Conference dedicated to Georgian-Iranian Political, Economic and Cultural Relations, which was divided into three parts (Politics and Security, Economics AND Culture and History).
Ms. Tamar Kiknadze, Supervisor of CIU Undergraduate program in International Relations and Doctoral Educational Program in Political Sciences and Ms. Maya Kapanadze, Chairperson of the conference Organizing Committee, head of Scientific-Analytical Center for Georgian-Iranian Relations and Iranian Room were the moderators of plenary session.
The topics presented by the conference participants not only addressed certain issues of political, economic and cultural relations in Georgia, but they also placed emphasis on significant regional issues. The conference presentations were on such topics as: Islamic republic as an international new challenge and its role in energetic politics, Expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Iran and Georgia, Manuscripts containing the Persian Gospel made with the Georgian script, etc.
It is noteworthy that the Fourth International Conference dedicated to Georgian-Iranian Political, Economic and Cultural Relations was attended by honorary guests, including a prominent Georgian Iranian Critic – Ms. Bela Shalvashvili and Hossein Namaz, Iranian Film Director who visited Georgia as a guest. In addition, it is notable that one of the participants of the fourth international conference, Professor Alia Akbar Japar from Mazandaran University initiated the signing of memorandum between CIU and Mazandaran University.
After completing and summarizing the plenary session, the Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, HE Mr. Hamid Mostafavid, the Head of the Culture Division of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, awarded the conference participants the Joint Certificates.
