Two Trials Held Within the Framework of the Project Moot Courts

Two simulated trials were held at Tbilisi City Court within the framework of the project Moot Courts. The event was initiated by CIU Faculty of Law seniors (Eter Chachua, Victoria Butskhrikidze, Nina Inasaridze, Mariam Gerlani, Kristine Khujadze, Tereza Asatiani) and the support of the Faculty of Law and the University Administration.

24 CIU students of the Faculty of Law (sophomores and juniors) participated in the above mentioned project and six students (seniors) were engaged as mentors.

The trial referred to Georgian cases in the direction of criminal law. The jury was represented by CIU students as well as students from other higher education institutions.

It should be noted that in the two moot courts held on November 24, the prosecution side was named as the winner. The date of the concluding trial will be revealed in the near future, where it will be clear which team will be able to gain the first place.
