International Scientific Conference on the topic – Human Rights, Achievements and Challenges dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was held at Caucasus International University.
The conference was organized by the University Research Laboratory of International Law and the leading specialists and professors from Georgia and Europe participating in it.
Mr. Kakhaber Kordzaia, University Rector opened the scientific conference and greeted the presenters. The rector placed emphasis on the fact that Cambridge University expressed its desire to publish the papers which appear in conference proceedings on its platform. The conference proceedings will be released in January.
Mr.Mindia Ugrekhelidze, supervisor of CIU Doctoral Program in Law focused on scientific activities of the university and its movement towards internationalization. In addition, he discussed the significance of the above mentioned conference.
The papers presented at the scientific conference referred to human rights and the mechanisms for their protection 70 years after the adaptation of Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In addition, the impact of declaration on legislation and international law of various countries have been discussed.
The working language of the conference was English. The participants and gathered guests listened to more than 20 different presentations. It is noteworthy that eight presentations were delivered by foreign professors.
