The first meeting with the students on the topic – My Profession - Obstetrics and Gynecology was conducted by Mr. Mamuka Nemsadze, Obstetrician-Gynecologist, Professor within the framework of Career Week organized by the initiative of Caucasus International University, Career Development Centre and the Faculty of Medicine. The presenter divided his speech into several thematic parts and discussed in details the basic knowledge of women’s health, clinical disciplines, the statistical data of the causes of maternal mortality and the existing challenges.
Mr. Mamuka Nemsadze placed emphasis on pros and cons of the profession of Obstetrician-Gynecologist and provided further examples for each case: while discussing challenges in this profession, he highlighted emotional stress which is connected to deteriorated health conditions and health problems of a mother and fetus. As for the positive factors, without doubt, the birth of a new life was named which is accompanied by ample emotions and joy. All these naturally have an impact on a doctor.
Mr. Mamuka Nemsadze gave specific tips and recommendations to the students which will useful during the professional activities:
We would like to remind you that in total 5 meetings will be held within the framework of the Career Week organized by Career Development Centre and the Faculty of Medicine from December 10 to December 15, 2018. The aim of the above mentioned project is to assist the students of the Educational Program in Medicine to choose their majors and plan their career.
