CIU Students Met Irakli Nadareishvili Mr. Irakli Nadareishvili, Head of the Department to Investigate Offenses Committed in the Course of Legal Proceedings at Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia visited the university within the framework of the project “Simulated Trials”. The event was initiated by CIU fourth-year students of the Faculty of Law (Eter Chachua, Victoria Butskhrikidze, Nina Inasaridze, Mariam Gerlani, Kristine Khujadze, Tereza Asatiani) and the support of the Faculty of Law.
The guest focused on the specificity of simulated trials and gave particular recommendations and advice to students in relation to the facts and events that need to be emphasized during the trials. Furthermore, he reviewed the existing similarities and differences between real and simulated trials.
Mr. Irakli Nadareishvili discussed the psychological pressure, the mechanism of questioning a witness and the introductory speech of the jury trial. The second part of the meeting was held in the form of question-responses. The students focused on specific issues and asked particular questions to the speaker in reference to the introductory speech, stages of questions and effectiveness of concluding speech. We would like to remind you that the project initiated by the students has been implemented with the support of CIU Dean of the Faculty of Law for the second year.
